According to the All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter in Zamfara State, certain politicians have hired thugs with guns to sabotage Bello Matawalle’s scheduled visit to the state as the Minister of State for Defense.
Yusuf Idris, the party’s publicity secretary, revealed this information to reporters in Gusau.
Idris claims that the purported scheme was intended to divert attention from Matawalle’s homecoming celebration on Thursday.
The minister is anticipated to see party officials, members, and supporters in Gusau and his hometown of Maradun, he stated, and the party has made sufficient preparations to accommodate him.
Idris bemoaned the hiring of thugs to attack the minister’s convoy and wreak havoc along the Gusau–Maradun highway, especially in the Tsafe area.
“Unfortunately, there is a serious, destructive plan for the minister’s visit, according to credible information,” he stated.
Nonetheless, the party advised its members to abide by the law and refrain from bringing firearms when visiting.
“In order to maintain peace and order, we are thus cautioning our members against carrying any kind of weapon during the minister’s visit and beyond,” Idris stated.
Additionally, he urged security services to be aware of the purported scheme and to make sure that anyone caught trying to stir up trouble is apprehended and turned over to law enforcement.
