In an effort to improve paperwork and fortify the party’s internal structure, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has started its e-membership registration process throughout the Federal Capital Territory and the 36 states that make up the federation.
Nentawe Yilwatda, the party’s National Chairman, made the announcement on Wednesday through a post on his verified 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account.
Yilwatda claims that the nationwide ward-level registration and validation process will guarantee party members’ grassroots involvement.
He clarified that the proposal applies to both current and potential members of the ruling party.
The APC chairman declared, “All current members are expected to validate their membership online, while new and intending members are warmly encouraged to register and become part of the progressive family.”
According to Yilwatda, the exercise was essential for maintaining accurate records, bolstering the party, and ensuring that all members participated fully in APC events.
Internal democracy and decision-making inside the party would be improved with a reliable and current membership registry, he continued.
“The exercise is essential for accurate documentation, party building, and full involvement in APC operations and decision-making,” he stated.
The APC chairman reaffirmed the initiative’s significance and characterized the e-membership push as a step toward creating a more cohesive and resilient party.
“A stronger register translates into a stronger party and a more cohesive progressive movement,” Yilwatda stated.
Additionally, he called on party members and supporters to welcome the exercise as a chance to reaffirm their dedication to the party and democratic principles.
He continued, “Let’s take advantage of this chance to strengthen our democracy, reaffirm our commitment, and advance together.”
