Before the 2027 general elections, a group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State rejected worries on Thursday that the ruling party would face any opposition from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.

According to reports, the political group’s application coincides with former vice president Atiku Abubakar formally registering as an ADC member in Adamawa State. This step has raised rumors that Abubakar may run for president under the party’s platform.

There have been rumors that Atiku would run as the ADC’s presidential candidate in the general election of 2027, which would increase interest in opposition realignment.

Adesuyi Adojutelegan, the Director-General of the Ondo APC group, stated in a statement on Thursday (today) that the ADC poses “no threat” to President Bola Tinubu’s desire for a second term.

It is evident that ADC is unable to overthrow the APC. We are aware that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, has joined them, but we are not concerned because Tinubu will still defeat him even if he runs for president, he said.

Prior to the 2027 elections, Adojutelegan asked APC members to step up their mobilization in Ondo South. He had already appointed the group’s ward and local government coordinators in Okitipupa.

“To be honest, Tinubu has no opposition for this coming election in 2027,” he continued. The President’s actions speak for themselves.

He claims that Tinubu is making a noticeable effort to combat insecurity.

He declared, “I am confident he will make Nigeria safer so that everyone can live without fear or intimidation. He is actively addressing our security challenges as everyone can see.”

Adojutelegan insisted that Tinubu is still Nigeria’s best choice, pointing to two years of “numerous achievements,” especially in the country’s road infrastructure, and characterizing the ADC as “a party of aggrieved politicians trying to undermine Tinubu’s achievements.”

Among the measures that “enhance educational access for underprivileged students” are Tinubu’s economic initiatives and student loan scheme.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the interior minister, was praised by the group’s coordinator for his “invaluable support” of the state’s APC organization.

He directed the recently appointed coordinators to vigorously spread the Tinubu message throughout the areas.

“I urge everyone to participate in vigorous campaigning throughout the six local government areas of the southern senatorial district,” he declared.
