The ₦300,000 ticket price for Nigerian musician Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake,’s Lagos homecoming show has drawn criticism.

It was stated that the price list went online and attracted harsh reactions from fans who said the fee was way beyond what many expected for a local concert.

Social media users bemoaned how difficult it is for regular fans to attend due to the fee.

Promoters stated that VIP packages include additional features and that the charge covers production and service costs.

Critics maintained that despite this, the organizers are excluding the same audience that supported the musician during his ascent.

If more reasonably priced solutions aren’t offered, some fan groups have even hinted at a potential boycott.

Sparrow X: “It’s amusing that Asake writes songs about the streets, but the streets can’t afford to see him.” A standing ticket for N300,000? That’s daylight robbery.”

Nora Blaze: “Fans are obviously unimportant to the organizers. All they want is fast money. Asake’s tolerance of this stupidity indicates that he too enjoys the greed. wicked conduct.

Jaycee Tope: “This is punishment, not a concert fee.” They ought to put on and maintain their performance. Asake is becoming the same industry snob he once said he wasn’t.”

Lomo Rexy: b “Asake should be clear if he just wants millionaires to attend his concert. This outrageous pricing is an insult to regular Nigerians. They’re squeezing fans dry because they think we have no choice.”

Asake’s concert prices have previously sparked controversy.

When VIP seats were sold at exorbitant prices and premium tables cost millions of dollars, previous Lagos events had sparked concerns.

Asake broke out in 2022 with ‘Omo Ope’ and has since created a formidable library, fusing Afrobeats, Amapiano and street-hop.

His singles, which helped solidify his position in the music industry, include “Peace Be Unto You,” “Sungba,” “Terminator,” and “Organise.”
