The assertions made in a recent Al Jazeera story headlined “Tested on Palestinians: Epstein, Israel’s Barak Pushed Spy Tech In Nigeria” were categorically denied by Babcock University on Thursday, calling the piece inaccurate and deceptive.
According to the report, the university was implicated in security and surveillance-related activities and was connected to the purchase of biometric equipment from Israel.
Such transactions have been flatly refuted by the religious organization.
Following the disclosure, the institution acted quickly and initiated what it called a thorough internal assessment of its administrative, financial, and procurement records.
The management argues that the audit discovered no proof to back up the assertions.
The university insisted that it has never bought technology from Israel or participated in intelligence gathering, related security activities, surveillance, or counterterrorism.
According to a statement from Dr. Johnson Babafemi Akintayo, Associate Vice-President, Communication, Media, and Branding, the university functions as a faith-based organization and adheres to well-defined procurement policies that meet both domestic and global accountability standards.
As a religious organization founded on moral leadership, academic excellence, and legal compliance, the University follows well-defined procurement policies that are in line with both domestic and international accountability norms.
“All acquisitions must pass institutional scrutiny, follow documentation guidelines, and go through formal approval procedures.
“The University firmly disassociates itself from any implication that goes against its operational mandate, governance structure, mission, or values.
Babcock University continues to be unwavering in its dedication to honesty, openness, responsible leadership, and the faith that the public, partners, parents, alumni, students, and regulatory agencies have in it.
Babcock insisted that its operations and mission remain firmly grounded in academic achievement and integrity, reaffirming its dedication to openness, ethical governance, and the trust that students, parents, alumni, and regulatory bodies have placed in it.
