Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, has dismissed accusations that he is involved in financing terrorists as unfounded and politically motivated, claiming that certain political actors are actively attempting to damage his reputation and undermine his integrity.

The governor allegedly made the claim on Thursday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

Mohammed insisted that there was no reason to link Bauchi to insecurity or banditry, describing it as one of the safest states in the North.

Additionally, my state is the safest in the Northeast, if not northern Nigeria, and I am currently serving as governor. We did this by being wise, tactful, and knowledgeable. I’ve never been connected to anything of that kind,” he remarked.

Wike was fingered.
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, was directly accused by the governor of being responsible for purported attempts to associate him with banditry and cause instability in Bauchi State.

“I am aware of the antics, mudslinging, and defaming a dog so that it can be hanged.” I must be annihilated as an opposition leader. If not, there’s no reason for anyone to link me to banditry,” Mohammed declared.

He warned that the accusations could ruin his reputation and political career, calling them hurtful and destructive.

“It is very painful to be accused of terrorism as a rising politician and opposition leader,” he continued.

Mohammed also claimed that attempts had been made to link his relatives to corruption cases, but he insisted that the charges were baseless.

“A corruption charge was made against one of my nephews, but there was nothing like that, nothing at all,” he stated.

The governor claims that he has written to the Federation’s Attorney General, copying the appropriate security agencies, and that he may bring the issue to the world community.

He declared, “I am going to escalate this to the international community, asking for protection because this is victimization and a violation of my fundamental human rights.”

He went on to accuse others in Bola Tinubu’s immediate vicinity of working against him, saying that attempts had been made to coerce him into joining the ruling All Progressives Congress.

“Wike is an undertaker for the PDP.”
Wike was harshly criticized by Mohammed, who called him a “undertaker” in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He does not truly belong to the PDP. He represents our party as an undertaker. It is against the law of nature to be in two places at once, the governor declared.

He cautioned that leaders’ political intolerance, conceit, and impunity might have disastrous effects on the nation.

Wike responds
Wike responded to Mohammed’s accusations during a “thank you” visit to Rivers State’s Abua-Odual Local Government Area on Thursday, characterizing them as an effort to shift the blame for internal political issues.

“I saw the governor of Bauchi claim that I am to blame for all of his issues. Why are you fighting if I have the ability to ignite his state? Wike queries.

Mohammed’s difficulties were self-inflicted and unrelated to him, according to the former governor of Rivers State.

“Go confront your issue.” I told you to stay out of my state when you arrived. Wike stated, “He doesn’t even have a party to present a successor today.”

Wike distanced himself from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in response to allegations that he was behind pressure on Mohammed’s associates.

“What’s my business if he claims it’s me and the EFCC is pursuing them? Go there and have fun if your state is clean, he continued.

Wike urged the Bauchi governor to “face his problems” and keep him out of the situation, insisting that his differences with Mohammed were solely about party leadership matters rather than personal finances or governance.
