According to reports, the PDP group headed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has been expelled from the party secretariat by governors Seyi Makinde, Bala Mohammed, and Taminu Turaki, the recently elected National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The development came after the feuding factions’ attempts to have parallel meetings on Monday caused tensions at the PDP headquarters in Abuja.
The Wike-backed group and the National Working Committee (NWC), which was elected in Ibadan, Oyo State, were reportedly planning meetings for the same day.
The pro-Wike faction’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, had traveled to Wadata Plaza with a few of his supporters when a brawl allegedly broke out at the PDP secretariat, forcing the Wike faction to leave.
But in order to hold their NEC meeting, Makinde, Bala Mohammed, and PDP National Chairman Turaki pushed their way into the PDP NEC hall.
