On Saturday, members of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4, Operation Hadin Kai, stopped ISWAP and Boko Haram terrorists from launching a coordinated attack on communities in Borno State’s Chibok Local Government.

According to military sources, the attack occurred early on Saturday morning. However, soldiers quickly retaliated with superior weaponry, engaging the attackers in a two-hour gunfight that resulted in a retreat toward the infamous Timbuktu Triangle.

In a phone chat with Vanguard, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume of Borno South, whose constituency includes Chibok, confirmed the breach, stating that his local coordinator had called him in despair.

“Troops thwarted Boko Haram/ISWAP’s invasion of various communities in Chibok. In Kwada village, a local church was destroyed and two people were tragically slain, according to Ndume.

Senator Ndume expressed sympathy to the Chibok community as a whole as well as the victims’ families.

In addition to asking the military and other security organizations to step up efforts to bring complete peace back to Southern Borno and the entire nation, he prayed for the souls of the departed.

No soldier was killed during the operation, according to another defense source.

“The troops skillfully contained the attack while remaining vigilant.” No equipment was impacted, and there were no casualties on our end, the insider stated.

Many of the escaping fighters were neutralized by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) during a subsequent air interdiction, according to sources.

NAF combat aircraft were immediately sent to the designated retreat axis when ground troops requested air support following the terrorists’ evacuation.

“Along the terrorists’ escape route, the NAF jet delivered precise and devastating strikes, obliterating a significant number of the fighters and disrupting their movement,” the source continued.

The reports claim that NAF combat aircraft carried took four significant airstrikes along the terrorists’ flight path near the Timbuktu Triangle. Real-time intelligence from ground forces of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4, Operation Hadin Kai, directed the strikes.

According to the individuals who spoke to Vanguard, the initial round of attacks “achieved significant degradation of the hostile elements” by focusing on a group of terrorists who were fleeing and trying to regroup.

Additional pockets of combatants dispersing into wooded areas were the target of later strikes.

The sources revealed that an unmanned aerial platform carried out further airstrikes in addition to the four manned-aircraft strikes.

“The platform engaged with high precision and maintained continuous ISR coverage.” According to the sources, the strikes interrupted the retreating fighters’ pattern of movement and further decimated them.
