Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has declared his intention to build a state-owned cement industry in Ebonyi.

The proposal was part of the state’s industrialization ambitions, according to the governor.

During Monday’s official presentation of the 2026 budget plan to the public for feedback, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru made this announcement.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s audacious economic measures were commended by the governor.

He claimed that because to the President’s audacious measures, some economic sectors experienced exponential growth.

“It is now feasible to do what was formerly impossible. Our budget would not have increased from N89 billion to nearly N800 billion in the absence of the subsidies. The governor stated, “That is the proof and advantage of eliminating fuel subsidies.”

The 2026 budget, according to Governor Nwifuru, was dubbed the “Budget of Hope and Actualization.”

He clarified that the 2026 budget was created to guarantee the fulfillment of ongoing initiatives and the growth of human capital.

He urged Nigerians, particularly the opposition parties, to work together to support his People’s Charter of Needs Agenda and Presidential Renewed Hope Agenda in order to carry out their mandates.

He reiterated that all projects are time-bound and promised that contractors will use the dry season to finish all ongoing projects, all the while refuting concerns and rumors of sluggish project execution.

The Nigerian President will visit Ebonyi to commission at least ten projects, and the Governor said he will start project commissioning by May of next year.

Traditional Rulers Council, Women Societies, Elders Council, and Students’ groups had already praised the Governor for include worthy sectors in the 2026 budgets in their individual addresses.
