ECOWAS Recruitment Now Open, Positions Available for Multiple Nationalities

The 2026 recruiting process for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has begun, and eligible people from member nations, including Nigeria, are being invited to apply for more than 30 positions among its institutions.

In a statement posted on its official website on Thursday, the regional group revealed that the exercise is intended to improve the execution of its sectoral programs.

It encouraged prospective candidates to use its careers portal to submit their applications.

Positions Open in Abuja, Nigeria
The notice states that there are a number of openings in Nigeria, especially in Abuja.

Office Aide, Program Assistant, Nurse, Protocol Assistant, Documentation and Archives Assistant, Office Manager (Bilingual Secretary), Junior Accountant (Disbursements), Accountant roles, Legal Officers, Political Adviser, Principal Officer positions, Registrar roles, Head of Division (Library and Documentation), and Head of Hansard are some of these.

Openings Throughout Africa
In keeping with its regional reach, the organization also advertised positions outside of Nigeria.

These include Principal Programme Officer (Water Supply and Sanitation) in Conakry, PPO (Sports Policy) in Liberia, and Administrative and Finance Officer positions in Addis Ababa.

Dakar, among other places, offers additional legal and administrative positions.

According to ECOWAS, candidates must fulfill certain age restrictions based on the role’s type.

The advertisement stated that candidates must be 35 years old for General Services or Support posts (G1 to G7), 45 years old for Professional category positions (P1 to P7), and 50 years old for Director positions (D1-D2).

Application Procedure and Deadline for ECOWAS
The organization clarified that before the deadline, candidates must download and fill out an official application form, attach a curriculum vitae and a letter of motivation, and send it to the specified email addresses.

The deadline to apply for the 2026 recruitment process is April 30, 2026.

Additionally, ECOWAS stressed that it does not collect any fees for its recruitment process while cautioning potential candidates to be cautious of fraudulent schemes.

Noting that only those who were shortlisted would be contacted, it further encouraged female candidates to apply.

The activity demonstrates the organization’s dedication to fostering broad engagement among its member nations and bolstering institutional capability.
