Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has hinted that his return to Nigeria is unpopular with the ruling class.

At the same time, he said that the political battle to overthrow the existing government was only getting started.

He made the assertion in a Friday, televised interview with BBC Hausa.

When that regime took power, I was one of the few people who publicly informed her that we would fight it and overthrow it. Nothing was left unsaid on my part.

“If they had anything against me, as they say they have against others, it would have been resolved long ago. If you wish to accuse me, however, be careful to provide evidence to support your claim. I’ll go if someone invites me; I’m waiting,” he remarked.

El-Rufai further revealed that goal disagreements were the reason he didn’t agree with the current administration.

Regarding his relationship with President Bola Tinubu, the former governor stated that he does not have a personal conflict with him.
