The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has received praise from Governor Peter Mbah, the party’s national panel, and the APC for holding a democratic and peaceful local government congress.

Speaking after overseeing the election of three national delegates and a new local government party executive at Amagunze, Nkanu East LGA, on Saturday, Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, the chairman of the national panel for APC Ward and Local Government Congresses in Enugu State, praised the unity, camaraderie, and transparency that were evident and described the state’s APC chapter as an example that other states should follow.

Initially, I will give the governor credit for demonstrating leadership within the party. Uniting is the first step in moving forward, and that is what we have witnessed here today. The panel has noted that steps have been made to guarantee that individuals travel together.

Once more, the congress is being conducted in an excellent manner. The atmosphere is electric. Since we didn’t see anyone objecting, everyone is content and our work was made easier. I applaud the citizens of this local government, and I don’t have any objections to this.

In order to continue receiving the benefits of democracy from the governor himself, I would want to urge all other local governments to follow the example set by Nkanu East Local Government, which holds peaceful congresses. Without harmony and peace, no state can grow,” he said.

At the congress where Hon. Abel Nwigwe was elected as the new party chairman in Nkanu East, Governor Mbah also thanked the party leaders and supporters for proving that the Enugu APC had become a single, large family.

“What we just saw here is an example that I think everyone should follow. We have shown that this conference is a fraternal endeavor and that we have a strong sense of solidarity.

Additionally, this paradigm is not unique to Nkanu East; according to the accounts I’ve gotten thus far, what we’ve seen here today is exactly what’s happening throughout Enugu State’s other 16 LGAs.

“Power struggles are not why we have come. As party executives in our local government, we have chosen a few people to represent us. Additionally, we have chosen national delegates to represent us. And you all got up to confirm it.

So, when we discuss consensus in action, this is what we mean. I want to give you all great credit. From the chairman to every other member, I would also like to congratulate all of the executives who were chosen to serve as our party’s executives. “My congratulations also go out to my fellow national delegates,” he said.

The state’s residents were also reassured by Mbah, who was welcomed by Hon. Okechukwu Edeh, the chairman of the Nkanu East Council; Hon. Okey Mbah, the member for the Nkanu East State Constituency; and other prominent local government officials that democracy would continue to be delivered to all areas of the state.

Governor Mbah, meanwhile, had already visited Agbani, the site of the Nkanu West LGA APC conference, where he praised the party leaders and delegates for prioritizing the party.

Mbah, who was welcomed by Hon. John Ogbodo, the chairman of the council, as well as other party leaders, including Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, the member for the Nkanu East/Nkanu West Federal Constituency, and Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, the secretary of the Police Service Commission, among many others, characterized the amity and peace in the Nkanu West APC as a great asset.
