Actress Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy Ojeagwu, was arrested and placed under detention for grounds that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has disclosed.
Ojeagwu and three other people were charged with criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying, according to a statement released on Friday by FCT police spokesman Josephine Adeh.
Adeh clarified that the actress’ brother did not show up for the authorities’ interrogation despite multiple invitations.
The statement claims that he was taken into custody in Lagos “under a duly issued court warrant” and moved to Abuja to be investigated.
“On October 28, 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying against Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu and three other individuals,” the document states.
Following receipt of the petition, Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu received multiple invitations from the Metro Area Command to be questioned; however, these invitations were not fulfilled. As a result, Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu was detained in Lagos on the basis of a properly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and then transported to Abuja for additional investigation.
“After investigations were completed, the suspect was charged in court on November 6, 2025, for offenses that included theft, assault, criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy, and criminal trespass.” The court has placed him under remand until the requirements of his bail are met.
“Due process, professional policing, and the rule of law remain the command’s commitments.”
The arrest comes after Daniels and her husband Ned Nwoko had a public falling out that started in October when the actress was shown sobbing in a widely shared video, accusing the senator of domestic abuse.
In response, Nwoko claimed that his wife was battling alcoholism and drug addiction.
On November 3, Daniels accused Nwoko of planning her brothers’ arrests, which caused the situation to significantly intensify.
Concerns about the case have been raised by the industry. Sammy’s release was previously demanded by fellow actress Mercy Johnson, who questioned the validity of his arrest.
Daniels pledged earlier today to resume her “abusive relationship” in exchange for her brother’s release from prison.
