Fidson Strengthens Board with Appointment of Two Female Directors

Two new female Independent Non-Executive Directors, Mrs. Hannah Emanehi Oyebanjo and Dr. Mrs. Amina Mohammed-Baloni, have been appointed to the board of Fidson Healthcare Plc, the top pharmaceutical firm in Nigeria.

The strategic decision was made at a recent Board meeting with the goal of improving corporate governance and utilizing diverse, high-level expertise to support the company’s strategic vision and expansion drive, according to a statement signed by Temitope Akindele, Corporate Services Manager at Fidson Healthcare Plc.

The announcement stated that although the appointments take effect immediately, they are still subject to shareholders’ ultimate approval at the following Annual General Meeting.

The board welcomed Dr. Mrs. Amina Mohammed-Baloni as an Independent Non-Executive Director. With more than 25 years of expertise in clinical care, policy development, and health systems governance, she is a highly accomplished physician and public health leader. She is well-known for her results-driven strategy for enhancing maternal, child, and community health outcomes. She is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and a Master of Public Health graduate.

Prior to this, Dr. Mohammed-Baloni led significant improvements as Kaduna State’s Commissioner for Health. With the introduction of the Zipline drone collaboration for medical supply distribution, the pharmaceutical manufacturing MOU with PMG-MAN, and an excellent COVID-19 pandemic management, these reforms established the state as a leader in cutting-edge healthcare delivery. She currently serves as the chair of the Bauchi State Specialist Hospital board and oversees governance as a non-executive director on the boards of the African Resource Center for Excellence in Supply Chain Management (ARC-ESM) and the Solina Center for International Development and Research (SCIDaR).

She has degrees from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, INSEAD Business School, and Harvard Kennedy School of Governance.

In a same vein, Mrs. Hannah Emanehi Oyebanjo became an Independent Non-Executive Director on the board. She works with Redwood Consulting, a part of The Republicom Group, as its managing director. She has over 30 years of experience leading businesses in many sectors and industries while fostering development, transformation, and market leadership. She is renowned for spearheading award-winning marketing campaigns and introducing goods that define categories for international corporations.

In her former role as GlaxoSmithKline’s marketing director, Mrs. Oyebanjo spearheaded important developments that won numerous national and international honors. In 2025, she was appointed to the Faculty for Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) after previously serving as the Marketing Director at Colgate Palmolive. She has received numerous awards, such as the Lifetime Achievement Award from WIMCA (Women in Marketing and Communications) in 2025 and the Marketing Icon Award from the Nigerian Marketing Award in 2025. She is a Fellow of the Advertising Regulation Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD). Mrs. Oyebanjo graduated from the University of Cape Town and Lagos Business School with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Business Administration. She speaks at conferences, serves as an executive coach, and is a marketing and leadership thought leader.
