Michael Aondoakaa, a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, has stated that neither SGF George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, nor Hyacinth Alia, the Governor of Benue State, are involved in his choice to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to reports, Aondoakaa made this claim on Wednesday while speaking on the “Morning Show” on Arise Television.

Aondoakaa emphasized that his desire to better Benue is the driving force behind his defection to the PDP, which he characterized as a “homecoming.”

He further explained his objective by saying that he wanted to use the extra money from President Tinubu’s reforms to help Benue State achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN, enhance rural areas, and supply food and shelter.

The previous AGF stated that he would accomplish this by upholding the anti-grazing statute and all other state laws.

Governor Alia SGF Akume had nothing to do with my decision to join the PDP, he declared. I served as Attorney General in the PDP administration. It feels like I’m returning to my hometown, where I was promoted to Attorney General and Minister of Justice, to follow my own aspirations.

“I would like to implement my programs in a new manner. My approach is to ensure that the money coming into the state is used to help rural communities.

“By doing this, I will be able to activate all state and federal laws that are pertinent to the protection of people and property in Benue State.”
