Prof. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, a former OPEC and APPO president, former Executive Vice Chairman of Exxonmobil Africa, former Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and former minister of petroleum, has been nominated to the board of Delborough Lagos.
Prof. Kachikwu, a native of Delta State, is a first-class law graduate from both the Nigerian Law School and the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), where he won numerous prizes and was named best graduate. Additionally, he holds a master’s and doctoral degree in law with honors from Harvard Law School in the United States.
Prof. Kachikwu has a plethora of experience, having held positions as General Counsel of Texaco Upstream and Downstream in Nigeria, President of OPEC and APPO, Executive Vice Chairman of Exxonmobil Africa, and Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). He is currently a visiting professor at ten international universities, including Harvard, and consults with several African governments.
At the recent annual board meeting at The Delborough Lagos, the Board Chairman, His Royal Majesty Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe CFR, mni the Obi of Onitsha, officially opened the Harvard-trained think tank.
Barr. Kelechi Nwaiwu, a well-known Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), was also selected and sworn in as Board Secretary.
“The Delborough Lagos is the only corporate body with a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) as Board Secretary,” said Igwe Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, who also greeted the new members.
