Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, should receive complete legal protection, according to Lawal Batagarawa, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He was responding to the accusation of phone tapping, and the previous governor was under suspicion in other cases.
El-Rufai, according to the ADC chieftain, has a right to be treated equally with other Nigerians.
This statement was made by Batagarawa on Thursday during a live appearance on a Trust TV interview program.
Batagarawa said, “El-Rufai is entitled to be treated fairly before the law, just like every other Nigerian.”
However, it is incorrect to interpret his admission of guilt in that phrase. Outside of the appropriate court, you cannot render judgments. Thus, that is what we are trying to convey.
“The law should provide El-Rufai with complete protection. This instance does not adhere to due process. Openness, transparency, and—above all—fairness should be the hallmarks of due process.
Hadiza Isma, Nasir El-Rufai’s wife, has refuted claims made by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) that wiretapping devices were found in their home.
According to reports, the ICPC had previously asserted that during a raid on El-Rufai’s Abuja residence, suspected surveillance and wiretapping devices that may intercept private communications and gain access to classified security information were found.
But using a post that was shared on 𝕏, Hadiza said the statement was untrue.
She wrote, “I was present. Such equipment could not be located. They’re lying. So why? A completely untrustworthy organization
