The defection of Ahmadu Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa State, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been characterized by the presidency as a major setback for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
In a tweet on his verified 𝕏 profile on Friday, Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, that Atiku step off from politics and move to his second residence in Dubai.
He declared, “Adamawa Governor Fintiri joins the APC, denying President Tinubu’s party access to Atiku’s entire home base.” For Atiku, this is a huge setback.
“Atiku Abubakar, the seasoned presidential candidate, has undoubtedly suffered a significant setback with Fintiri’s defection, as the presidential election is less than a year away.
The state is mostly unaware of his ADC. Given that his governor has transformed the APC into an Adamawa juggernaut, he should definitely reevaluate his aspirations.
“A politician has no business selling his candidacy to outsiders if he is not very popular at home. It’s time for Atiku to think about leaving politics and moving to Dubai, his second home.
