Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, fired every political appointment in his administration.
Just twenty-four hours have passed since he and his deputy were sworn in for a second term in office amid fanfare and pump.
On March 18, 2026, the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) issued a formal circular instructing all political appointees to transfer their responsibilities immediately.
Additionally, it directed impacted appointees to delegate duties to Permanent Secretaries or, in their absence, the highest ranking civil servant within their respective departments, ministries, and agencies (MDAs).
