The Byazhin-Across village in Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja’s Bwari Area Council, has been attacked by armed men.

According to reports, the armed men raided the Paze neighborhood of Byazhin-Across on Monday night, killing Sylvester, a vigilante police, and kidnapping a number of locals.

Before carrying out the kidnappings, the attackers assaulted the area at around 11:00 p.m. and started shooting, frightening the locals.

The vigilante was allegedly shot during the incident after leaving a complex where he had been sitting with other inhabitants when the attackers showed up.

During the event, multiple people were taken away.

A month-old infant was left behind, and four children of a pastor, a vigilante’s wife, and her sister were among those abducted.

A security guard and another woman were also kidnapped during the assault.

In the same Byazhin-Across neighborhood near Orange Farm, suspected kidnappers allegedly launched another attack two days after the first one, breaking into other homes and kidnapping additional victims.

The community, which was once thought to be calm, has become more fearful as a result of the recent attacks, and many inhabitants are now worried about the rising number of kidnapping incidents in some areas of the Federal Capital Territory.
