Lauretta Onochie, a former assistant to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of refusing to provide forms to its candidates after they have made large financial payments.
According to reports, the upcoming APC National Convention will screen candidates for a number of national posts on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
Onochie questioned when the APC became a 419 political group in a post via 𝕏 amid the continuing screening, emphasizing that President Bola Tinubu ruins all he touches.
“How did APC become a 419 political association?” she wrote. APC candidates are spending enormous sums of money for forms all around the country, but the party won’t deliver them the forms they have paid for.
“They are still selling forms even though they have already nominated the candidates. This isn’t democracy. This is a scam. Tinubu ruins everything he comes into contact with.
In the meantime, in anticipation of the party’s 2026 National Convention, the APC screened its National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, on Tuesday.
The Aspirants’ Screening Committee, led by Biodun Oyebanji, the governor of Ekiti State, carried out the exercise.
The Daily Post claims that Yilwatda was requested to bow by committee members during the screening, which was interpreted as acknowledging his party leadership.
Party officials and candidates were present when the workout started at around nine in the morning.
Party members who have purchased and sent in their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to run for posts at the upcoming convention participated in the activity. A crucial stage in making sure that only competent candidates are chosen for the party’s various leadership positions is the screening procedure.
