Nigerian musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has been open about his experience in the music business thus far and what fans may anticipate from him in the next stage of his career.
In an interview with Eddie Kadi on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show, Davido stated that he has accomplished a great deal in his career, including playing all around the world and winning numerous Grammy nominations in the previous three years.
He clarified that he is happy with his accomplishments and that, rather than using Western sounds to appeal to a global audience, he now wants to go back to his roots by creating unapologetic African music.
“I have sold out every arena, performed everywhere, and attended three Grammys in the last three years,” Davido stated. The upcoming track is really African and Davido-esque. I don’t really want to do western sounds because we have already done it.
The singer also discussed the support he receives from his South African fans, stating that “eighty percent” of South Africans are familiar with him and adore his music.
Over the years, Davido has worked with a number of South African musicians and obtained many certifications from the nation’s music business.
