Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, VDM, is a well-known social media critic in Nigeria. He claims that he received a call from the Department of State Services (DSS) regarding a supposed plan to organize a nationwide protest regarding the conflict between the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to reports, INEC recently stopped recognizing the ADC’s national chairman, former Senate President David Mark, and national secretary, former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola.
According to reports, INEC took action after an Appeal Court ruling and a lawsuit brought by Nafiu Bala Gombe, a party factional leader.
The opposition leaders, who united and embraced the party prior to the national elections in 2027, are confused by the move.
Due to the party’s accusations that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is responsible for the crisis, there are signs that a statewide demonstration may take place.
In a video clip that he shared on Facebook on Tuesday, VDM claimed that a DSS agent had contacted him to ask about the purported planned protest.
He claims that the caller insisted on knowing the purpose of the planned protest, claiming that they were planning to incite disturbance around the nation.
“This morning, I received a call from a DSS official asking what the purpose of the protest you people are organizing is,” he stated. “What protest?” I asked him. since I have no plans to protest somewhere.
According to the report they received, he informed me, “I and some people want to cause unrest in this country.”
He claimed that in order to incite disturbance, ADC hired me to spearhead the protest on their behalf due to INEC. I informed the caller that I do not promote ADC anywhere and that I am not partisan.
