After a brutal attack on the Karku hamlet in Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, ten people, including a Catholic priest named Rev. Fr. Nathaniel Asuwaye, were kidnapped by suspected bandits.
The incident was understood to have happened early on Saturday morning.
Residents characterized the attackers as terrorists who executed a concerted operation, according to a statement released on Saturday by Jacob Shanet, the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan.
The statement claims that the attack claimed the lives of three people. They were identified as Alhaji Kusari, Mr. Maitala Kaura, and Mr. Jacob Dan’azumi.
According to the statement, the priest’s home was attacked at approximately 3:20 a.m. (WAT).

The statement also called for ongoing solidarity in the face of what it said was a deteriorating security situation in some areas of Kaduna State and dedicated the abducted victims to the prayer of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
