Kano governor sacks investment commissioner, orders immediate handover

Shehu Wada Sagagi’s appointment as Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, and Industry has been terminated with immediate effect by Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

In a statement released on Thursday, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokeswoman, announced the decision.

The statement claims that Sagagi has been instructed to immediately transfer all ministerial responsibilities to the Director of Commerce.

The statement claims that the governor “acknowledged Sagagi’s contributions to the development of the state, particularly in the areas of politics, religion, small and medium enterprises.”

Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to the former commissioner for his work while in office.

The governor reminded the people that his administration is still committed to providing efficient governance and enhancing public services, and he wished him luck in his future endeavors.

The action is a part of the government’s continuous endeavor to reorganize its system for improved performance and long-term growth, the statement continued.
