During a combat patrol at Odoape–Adankolo Forest in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Kogi State, troops from 12 Brigade neutralized a suspected terrorist.
Zagazola Makama, a security and counterinsurgency specialist in the Lake Chad area, revealed this in a post on X.
According to the source, the encounter happened on March 23, 2026, at around 1400 hours, when the patrol squad came into contact with the escaping suspect.
According to Makama, an initial inquiry revealed that the neutralized person was a well-known terrorist who supplied logs to terrorist organizations, rustled cattle, and provided intelligence and targets for kidnappings.
According to the source, “the military has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining aggressive patrols and intelligence-led operations to curb criminal activities and protect residents in the area.”
It was remembered that Kogi State has recently turned into a hotbed of banditry activity, where many locals have been abducted and others have perished.
