At Mallam Fatori in the Abadam Local Government Area of Borno, troops of Operation HADIN KAI successfully thwarted a coordinated infiltration attempt by ISWAP terrorists, killing at least sixty.
In an operational report sent to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, the military stated that the terrorists attacked the 68 Battalion, Mobile Defence Area, on Tuesday night.
It stated that the terrorists were on foot and using armed drones, and that the attack started in the Duguri General Area and targeted Bravo Company’s frontage.
The Joint Task Force (JTF) and air assets swiftly countered the drones, forcing the terrorists to flee in confusion into Arege General Area, according to the report.
“According to preliminary assessments, the operation resulted in the neutralization of over sixty terrorists, with four soldiers suffering minor injuries.”
Six suspected terrorist groups have been spotted approaching Arege, according to the military, which confirmed that follow-up intelligence and surveillance operations are still in progress.
It further stated that in order to consolidate gains and stop additional invasions, exploitation of the area is planned.
The JTF published a video clip that highlights the operational preparedness and accuracy of forces in the Northeast by showing the aftermath of the airstrike.
In Borno and the neighboring states, the JTF reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding civilians and keeping pressure on terrorist networks. In NAN
