According to the Zamfara Youth Network (ZYN), the SaharaReporters article claiming that Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defense, provided 36 Hilux cars to bandits and continues to communicate with terrorists is a total and deliberate falsehood.
Speaking in Gusau today, Comrade Musa Usman claimed that the narrative is nothing more than a last-ditch effort to downplay the exceptional outcomes the Minister has produced since taking office.
The youth organization declared unequivocally that neither as governor nor as minister did Matawalle ever give such vehicles to bandits.
Musa claimed, “These are recycled lies that were looked into and discarded by security agencies years ago.”
“The same military operations that Matawalle is currently leading have already killed every bandit leader described in the narrative. Both driving Hilux cars and using WhatsApp are prohibited for dead men.
The ZYN further stated that there is no record of the alleged “whistle-blower” in the government.
“From 2019 to 2023, we examined the payrolls. There was never an assistant like that. The narrative is entirely made up to divert Nigerians’ attention from the truth that Zamfara is experiencing its most peaceful period in more than ten years as a result of Matawalle’s vigorous campaign against terrorists.
Jittery politicians who are losing support in Zamfara and throughout the North-West were accused by the youth network of funding the fabricated report.
“These are the same people who, while in power, gave bandit leaders monthly allowances.” He said, “Now that those leaders are being eliminated one by one, they are scared and searching for any lie to regain relevance.”
They blamed people who have been marginalized by the public and are now fighting their battles on blogs located abroad.
They are aware that Zamfara will never support somebody who has previously engaged in negotiations with murderers in 2027. Therefore, they are employing SaharaReporters to disparage the one individual who has actually brought about peace in our state.
According to Usman, “Matawalle has accomplished what no one before him could.” Farmers sleep fearlessly on their farms, markets are open once more, and schools are packed. Every week, bandits flee away or die. Some people find this achievement intolerable, so they pay American bloggers to spread false information.
The network cautioned that the young people and women of Zamfara will expose and reject any politician who continues to use the outdated, unsuccessful tactic of blackmail.
Usman continued, “When I say that Minister Matawalle is working day and night with our gallant soldiers, I speak for every young person in Zamfara.” He pays the troops a visit, brings gear, and boosts morale.
He and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are responsible for the peace we currently have. Anyone who disparages Matawalle is demeaning the tears of our mothers and the blood of our troops.
“We issue a challenge to SaharaReporters and their sponsors: tomorrow morning, bring your whistleblower to Channels TV or AIT so that he can swear on the Holy Qur’an using his full name and face.” If he declines, all Nigerians would be aware that this narrative is entirely biased.
“Your time is over, failed politicians who are concealing themselves behind this deception. The ladies and young people of Zamfara are now conscious. With our life, we shall protect this calm.
“I am grateful, President Tinubu. Minister Matawalle, I’m grateful. Our kids no longer have to pay a ransom to attend school because of you. We won’t ever let dishonest people tarnish your reputation.
