Following intelligence reports of suspicious gas-like activity and an accumulation of illegal substances kept in a secret warehouse inside a residential estate in Sunny Billa East Street, Bucknor, Isheri, Isolo, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has reported yet another success in its operations.
On November 19, 2025, NDLEA agents moved in based on the intelligence. They initially stopped a vehicle that was dumping opioids for distribution before Christmas.
In a press release on Wednesday, November 26, Femi Babafemi, Director of Media & Advocacy at NDLEA Headquarters in Abuja, stated that the agency’s Special Operations Unit pursued two suspected members of the Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO), Egbo Innocent Udalor and Chukwe Emmanuel, before apprehending them at Apple Junction while they were transporting three hundred cartons of opioids in a truck.
The suspects were apprehended while trying to move the drugs into community distribution networks and woodland routes before to the holiday season, according to the witness’s account provided in the NDLEA statement.
According to reports, a follow-up clearance strike on November 20, 2025, brought officers to the DTO warehouse inside a residential compound. There, Osimhen-like operational force was used to apprehend Onyekachi Pius Nwanagu, a suspected cartel baron, as well as two other suspects and members of his network, including Nwoye Sunday Ali, Nnacho Ogochukwu, and Oraghalia Chukwuebuka Philip.
According to Babafemi, the drugs were transported from the estate in eleven exhibit recovery trucks to the NDLEA’s primary exhibit complex in Lagos for secure forensic preservation.

According to agency estimates, agents found seven million two hundred and seventy-two thousand (7,272,000) tramadol 225mg pills worth ₦3,960,000,000 and 526,200 bottles (measuring 52.6 million mls) of codeine syrup worth ₦2,762,550,000. The total street value of the drugs was only ₦6,722,550,000.
Additionally, the statement verified that the bottles and tablets occupied a whole warehouse on Sunny Billa East Street, a residential area in Isheri, Lagos State.

Mohamed Buba Marwa, the NDLEA’s chairman and chief executive officer, praised the participating officers while characterizing the raid as “not just an arrest, but a clear and unambiguous statement…” that “represents a victory for the Nigerian people and a confirmation of our unwavering commitment to the mandate given to us by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
“The days when drug barons thought they were untouchable are over,” Marwa warned cartel networks across the country.
“The long arm of the law will eventually catch up with every merchant of death, regardless of how high or deeply concealed they think they are,” he declared.
Investigators executed a properly signed search warrant on his Kaduna residence during questioning following his detention in Egypt on September 7, 2022, due to a prior connection to the Abuja-Kaduna train incident in March 2022.
One Toyota Camry (Muscle) model, one Peugeot 5008, one Mercedes Benz E350, one Lexus, one India-based transportation logistics asset link, and one Hyundai vehicle are among the seven recovered vehicles and approximately 300,000 USD worth of items that were later tracked down and tendered as exhibits, according to Babafemi.

Investigation of the Terror Negotiation Network, Acceptance of Forensic Reports
Marwa affirmed that 98% of the chats on Mamu’s Samsung tablet and cell phones were in Hausa, according to forensic investigation. The prosecution team under David Kaswe transcribed parts of these conversations and submitted them as evidence.
The warrant-backed seizure also showed that after the terrorism baron was apprehended overseas, he told his in-law, Mubarak Tinja, to remove items in order to avoid being discovered.

Mamu could be heard promising to investigate their requests.
According to reports, the court then postponed the adoption of additional written addresses and the status update on forensic interrogation to February 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
