Ayodele Fayose’s brother, Isaac Fayose, has expressed dissatisfaction with Nigeria’s democratic situation, calling the opposition helpless.

Fayose bemoaned the breakdown of the nation’s election and political processes in a video posted on X.

When we arrive, ADC is dead. Peter Obi is incapable of being president. Unless people choose you, no one can be president again.

He warned that Nigerians had no real opposition as a result of the Senate’s rejection of electoral changes, the judiciary’s decline, and the country’s overall political system.

We no longer have electoral reform. Even the projects that Jonathan initiated have been discarded. He declared, “No more BVAS.

Fayose called the situation a national tragedy and a personal sorrow.

“I’ve never been sadder in my life than today. This could not be changed by our generation. We lost our nation.

In addition, he bemoaned the country’s problems and criticized political leaders for the wider breakdown of public services, pointing out that areas like healthcare, law enforcement, and customs are failing.

He asked Nigerians to accept their existing political situation.

“We gave up. Nigeria left us. Nigeria has vanished. “At this point, just fighting is just stressing yourself,” he stated.

The third reading of the Electoral Act 2022 (Repeal and Reenactment) Amendment Bill 2026 was approved by the Senate on Wednesday.

The proposed change to Clause 60, Subsection 3 of the law, which attempted to mandate the electronic transmission of election results, was rejected by the upper chamber. Since then, the public has reacted to the decision in a variety of ways.

Godswill Akpabio, the president of the Senate, responded by explaining that the Senate did not categorically reject the electronic transmission of election results.

He clarified that rather than completely eliminating the requirement, the chamber simply decided not to make real-time results transmission to the result portal essential.
