According to Solomon Dalung, a prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nigerian institutions are ruled by a dictator.

According to reports, Dalung made the claim in response to the state of the nation’s government institutions during an interview on Trust TV.

The former minister of sports and youth development went on to compare Nigeria’s institutions to prisoners held by forest bandits, emphasizing that the judiciary is most negatively impacted.

Dalung claims that the environment in which the judiciary operates is extremely hostile and toxic.

“The captives who are currently with the bandits in the forest are not different from our institutions in Nigeria,” he declared. That’s how our guidelines are.

“Have you seen how criminals use weapons to hold captives and ask them to speak? Can you express this? After that, they’ll go shoot them. Our institutions are ruled by a despot. The judiciary is also more severely impacted.

Dalung, meanwhile, has denounced the latest murders in Plateau State, bemoaning what he called a return to a “dark era” of profiling and killing innocent drivers on highways.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Dalung called the murder of four young traders in Dorowa Babuje, Barakin Ladi Local Government Area, “barbaric and unacceptable.”

According to the former minister, the nation has passed the “dark era of profiling citizens on highways and slaughtering innocent travelers simply because they share an ethnic or religious identity.”

Dalung stated, “I thought we had moved past the dark era of profiling citizens on highways and killing innocent travelers just because they share an ethnic or religious identity.”
