As Covenant University embarks on a new academic year, Pro-Chancellor Pastor (Mrs.) Faith Oyedepo has called on staff and faculty to maintain quality and spirituality.
As the university begins a new academic year, Pastor (Mrs.) Faith Oyedepo, Pro-Chancellor of Covenant University in Ota, Ogun State, has charged professors and staff to maintain the highest levels of quality service delivery.
At the recent Resumption Assembly, which was held in the University Chapel, she made the charge while speaking to staff members.
Speaking on the topic of “Setting the Pace for a Year of Excellence,” Oyedepo emphasized the importance of starting the school year strong and continuing to consistently achieve excellence in all areas of responsibility.
Drawing on Romans 8:6 to emphasize that true excellence is rooted in spiritual consciousness rather than dependence on the flesh, which could lead to compromise and corruption, she emphasized the crucial role that spirituality plays in attaining lasting greatness.
She claims that Covenant University purposefully and strategically placed spirituality at the center of its Seven Core Values. She urged faculty and staff to stay true to their spiritual commitments by regularly studying God’s Word, pointing out that this discipline allows greatness to permeate all endeavors.
Oyedepo also considered the Chancellor’s early spiritual development, pointing out that his early devotion to Christ established the groundwork for his long-lasting influence as a mentor.
She continued, “Mentoring students becomes more effective and divinely supported when faculty and staff imbibe similar values.”
She urged staff members to make themselves available for God’s purposes in developing future leaders, characterizing them as destiny molders entrusted with raising a revolutionary generation capable of changing society.
