The Nigeria Police Force’s Oyo State command has confirmed that Ibukun Otesile, the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ibadan Elite for 2025 president-elect, was abducted.

It was discovered that Otesile was kidnapped on Thursday night in front of her residence in Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State’s General Gas neighborhood.

The event happened around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, according to Adewale Osifeso, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who confirmed the development. She was abducted on Thursday evening. The investigation is still going on, Osifeso stated.

Otesile is a mother of two and the daughter of Olalekan Babatunde, the founder and general overseer of Jesus Is King Ministries in Ibadan.

On Friday, word of her kidnapping swiftly went viral on social media, causing a great deal of anxiety.

Olamide Olanrewaju, the personal assistant of Apostle Joshua Sola Akinyemiju, the departing Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Oyo State, confirmed the occurrence to reporters and provided information about the distress warning. Olanrewaju claims that the news was delivered to the association on Thursday at approximately 8:45 p.m.

Her father is a member of the WhatsApp group that we all belong to. The daughter of Reverend (Dr.) Lekan Babatunde was abducted, according to the CAN chairman, who posted it as a distress cry, according to Olanrewaju.

“Everyone in the group started praying and felt anxious. All were in prayer, even religious authorities. Prayer is beneficial, but we must also act morally, I replied.

Before sending out the notice, Olanrewaju tagged Rev. Moses, the chaplain of the Oyo State Police Force Headquarters, in the same WhatsApp group.

“I discovered that she had been abducted at the gate in front of her General Gas home. “Only God knows where she went, what she was doing there, and who she was with,” Olanrewaju continued.

The daughter of our beloved Reverend Dr. Lekan Babatunde was abducted this evening, Thursday, December 4, at approximately 8:00 p.m., according to the distress warning released by CAN. In front of her gate at General Gas, Akobo, Ibukun Otesile, a mother of two, was abducted.

The Nigerian Army Headquarters and the Nigeria Police Force were urged by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to use all available resources to secure Otesile’s safe and prompt release following the kidnapping.
