Peter Obi, a former presidential contender, has voiced his disapproval of politicians’ open celebration of vote fraud.
According to reports, on Wednesday in Enugu State, Peter Obi made a formal announcement of his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alliance.
Former Anambra State governor Peter Obi pledged to fight any attempt to rig the 2027 election in a legitimate and legal manner.
In order to prevent pre-election controversies, he also urged early verification of candidates’ academic backgrounds.
“We have all witnessed those who benefited from our democracy now becoming accessories of our democracy through coercion or gangsterism to the opposition,” he stated.
“We will fight against this because we can’t let it happen. People are now openly cheering electoral fraud.
“And we are stating that we will use all legal and legitimate means to oppose those who intend to rig elections in Nigeria come 2027.”
Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, has denied rumors that Peter Obi might run for vice president in the 2027 elections.
During an interview with Arise News on Tuesday, Tanko denied these rumors.
He claims that Obi traveled around the world to become Nigeria’s president rather than to become vice president.
“He claimed that he didn’t travel the world to become vice president.
According to Tanko, “He traveled the world to learn so that he could be number one—to be the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
