Political Earthquake as Plateau Governor Mutfwang Leaves PDP

Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party.

According to sources, he resigned in a letter addressed to the Mangu Local Government Area’s Ampang West Ward Chairman on December 29, 2025.

The governor emphasized the need for better service delivery, clear direction, and focused leadership.

According to Governor Mutfwang, his resignation is effective immediately.

A day later, the ward leadership accepted the letter, which expressed gratitude to the party for giving him the chance to work in the democratic system.

Mutfwang expressed gratitude to party leaders and followers for their support over the years, pointing out that the current political climate made his choice necessary.

The governor declared, “I am forced to look for an alternative platform given the realities of the moment and guided by my commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and service delivery.”

According to reports, Mutfwang is now scheduled to formally join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following his resignation.

Remember that Mutfwang recently joined the ruling party, as revealed by Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the APC.
