Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, met with President Bola Tinubu behind closed doors at the State House on Thursday.
After Soludo’s reception following his courtesy visit to the President, it was reported that Tinubu and Soludo had a private meeting.
In a statement released on Friday, Chris Aburime, Governor Soludo’s chief press secretary, said Tinubu was thrilled to see his principal and referred to him as a longtime friend of more than 22 years.
Additionally, according to Aburime, Tinubu congratulated Soludo on the results of the most recent Anambra State gubernatorial election.
“The President took the opportunity to further congratulate Governor Soludo on his overwhelming victory in the recently concluded Anambra gubernatorial election,” he stated.
“Remember that as soon as the governorship election was over, President Tinubu sent Governor Soludo a message of congratulations.”
Remember that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) pronounced Governor Soludo the winner with 73% of the votes cast?
On Tuesday, November 25, Soludo presented a ₦757 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the Anambra State House of Assembly, claiming that it represents a renewed effort to expedite his administration’s development plan.
The governor claimed that the budget, which is titled “Changing Gears 3.0: Solution Continues,” accelerates the implementation of the revolutionary agenda that his government has been pursuing since its founding.
In keeping with his infrastructure-driven governing style, Soludo disclosed that the plan allots ₦595.3 billion to capital expenditures, or 79% of the entire budget amount.
21% of the budget, or ₦161.6 billion, is allocated to recurring expenses.
The governor said that the expenditure plan had a ₦225.7 billion deficit, which would be covered by a combination of financial institution support, public-private partnerships, better IGR, and concessions.
