Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the Senate, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to reports, the lawmaker would formally register with the opposition party on Thursday (today) at the ADC national offices in Wuse, Abuja.

Kennedy Mbele, the senator’s media assistant, verified this in a statement on Wednesday.

According to him, this signified Kingibe’s departure from the Labour Party (LP) and her admission into the ADC.

Senior party leaders, ADC candidates running for the FCT area council elections on February 21, party sympathizers, and members of the media will all be present at the registration ceremony, according to the statement.

“Kingibe is the only serving senator in the new but dynamic opposition party thanks to her audacious decision to join the ADC,” Mbele stated.
