Under the auspices of the Ijumu Voters Forum, or IYF, a grassroots voter forum in Kogi State has warned former Senator Dino Melaye to stop criticizing the state’s leaders.

This came after the former lawmaker’s recent outburst against certain federal political officials.

The group claims that Melaye did not have enough of an impact on Kogi West residents’ lives to be morally justified in criticizing others.

The former senator lacks the moral authority and public record necessary to criticize other public office holders, according to a statement released on Monday by the Kogi West grassroots voters’ forum and signed by its coordinator, Hon. Eleta Kelvin Oluseyi.

The forum claims that Melaye’s years in public office were characterized by controversy rather than service, drama rather than progress, and noise rather than outcomes.

According to the statement, “leadership is measured by impact, and his record falls short of what the people of Kogi West deserved.”

Melaye’s political disputes and public antics gained him more notoriety than his significant achievements to his constituency.

“The former senator became a spectacle rather than a statesman, earning him national nicknames.”
