Bolaji Abdullahi, the African Democratic Congress’s (ADC) National Publicity Secretary, has challenged Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, to a debate on national television.

According to reports, Abdullahi issued the challenge on Friday during an appearance on Channels Television’s “The Morning Brief.”

In his remarks about the 2027 election, Abdullahi asked the government, which is run by the All Progressives Congress (APC), how the Electoral Act will increase the poll’s credibility and transparency.

The ADC chieftain claims that the opposition parties’ existence annoys the ruling party, emphasizing that they won’t be silenced.

Additionally, Felix Morka, the national public secretary for the APC, came under fire from Abdullahi for using derogatory language and insults in their press releases.

He declared, “I’ll be prepared to debate this if you can convince Bayo Onanuga to appear on television to do so. Not only reading what he said. Let him join me to discuss this. Let’s have a face-to-face meeting and allow him to explain how the Electoral Act they approved will enhance the election’s credibility and openness.

This APC government appears to be annoyed that there is any opposition at all. “Who are these people asking us questions?” is the answer you receive from them. They prefer that no one asks them questions. They prefer that no one confronts them.

They use language that is both demeaning and offensive, and you can see it. While reading the statement issued by Felix Morka, the National Public Secretary of the APC, I had some questions. Let God be the reason we have children. “What are we teaching them?”
