Mr. Ella Aji Williams, the National Youth Service Corps’ Taraba State Coordinator, has urged corps members stationed in the state to act as representatives of NYSC ideals in their host communities.
The call was made on Tuesday at the state’s Ardo-Kola local government council at the 2025 Batch “C” Stream I Orientation Course conclusion ceremony.
Williams praised the corps members for their excellent behavior during the orientation, pointing out their self-control, deference, and zeal for camp activities. He emphasized that the service year provides chances for both personal and national development.
He urged the corps members to actively participate in community development initiatives that tackle pressing issues in fields including agriculture, health, education, the environment, and community empowerment.
Williams encouraged the corps members to approach their host communities with humility, respect, and a willingness to serve, while acknowledging the governor of Taraba State’s support for the NYSC program.
“Taraba State is a country with many cultures, kind people, and a lot of potential. You are NYSC ambassadors, and your behavior will represent the Scheme’s principles,” he stated.
He also advised corps members to put security first, stay away from needless dangers, abide by local laws and customs, and keep lines of communication open with coworkers, employers, and State NYSC management.
Williams continued, “Your safety remains our utmost priority,” encouraging them to make significant contributions and leave a favorable impression wherever they go.
