Three All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leaders from Benue State’s Ogbadibo Local Government Area perished in a horrific car accident while their route to Lafia, Nasarawa State, for the party’s North Central Zonal Congress.
The victims have been named as Hon. Abraham Enenche of Olachagbaha Ward, Hon. Ogbe Enemari of Ai-oono Ward 3, and Hon. Anawo Benjamin of Orokam Ward 3.
While a number of other delegation members suffered varied degrees of injuries and are still undergoing care, they perished at the scene of the crash.
The young party leaders, who were reportedly on official party duty, lost their lives in the fatal incident that happened on Wednesday along the Makurdi–Lafia road.
Comrade Daniel Onjeh, the 2023 APC Benue South Senatorial candidate, responded to the news by expressing his profound sadness over the loss and calling it a devastating tragedy.
He pointed out that the deceased were devoted grassroots politicians whose commitment and devotion greatly aided in the party’s expansion.
Onjeh sent his condolences to the APC family and the grieving families in Ogbadibo and Benue State, asking God to give them the fortitude to cope with the terrible loss.
Additionally, he extended prayers for the quick recovery of those hurt and urged party members to stand together during this trying time.
In a similar vein, Comrade Abba Moro, the Senate Minority Leader and Senator for the Benue South Senatorial District, called the occurrence “traumatic and devastating,” particularly considering that several people died simultaneously in the same local government area.
He prayed for the deceased’s souls to rest in peace and for heavenly consolation for the surviving Ogbadibo residents, as well as their families, friends, and political associates.
Additionally, the senator wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
