Following the reported deaths of 162 people in Kwara State’s Woro and Nuku towns, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, expressed sadness.

According to reports, Peter Obi said in a message on his 𝕏 handle headlined “Killings in Kwara: We Must Act Now” that these deaths are a significant failure for the nation.

Peter Obi sent his sympathies to the families and communities impacted by the tragedy, and he urged the appropriate authorities to move quickly to restore harmony and prosecute those responsible.

“I am deeply saddened by the recent attacks in Kwara State, where gunmen reportedly killed about 150 people in villages like Woro and Nuku,” he said. Every loss of innocent life is terrible, and these murders are a significant setback for our country.
