Congratulating Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on winning the governorship election, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated that his reelection is proof of his innovative leadership.
According to reports, the governor received 422,664 votes, surpassing Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress, his closest opponent, who received 99,445.
Tinubu congratulated the governor on his victory in a statement he personally signed on Sunday.
He noted that he became the third governor in the state’s political history to earn a second term after his resounding victory in Saturday’s ballot.
“I must also congratulate the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the successful and peaceful conduct of the governorship election,” Tinubu declared.
“The state has achieved tremendous progress under Professor Soludo’s leadership, and his reelection is a credit to his innovative leadership.
“Governor Soludo, the Solution, has proven that knowledge really is power and that academic concepts can be used to serve the public, supporting responsibility, openness, and responsible resource and personnel management.
“In May of this year, I traveled to Anambra State and officially opened several projects carried out by the Soludo administration. I emphasized the sound reasoning behind Mr. Solution’s groundbreaking initiatives. That was a very amazing event, and I will never forget it.
“I applaud Governor Soludo for infusing Anambra’s governance with discipline, grace, intelligence, and a new outlook. Anambra is fulfilling its mission as the Light of the Nation under his leadership.
“I implore Governor Soludo to win with generosity and to enlist the help of his rivals in the just finished elections.
“I look forward to Anambra and the Federal Government continuing to work together, and I assure Governor Soludo of my ongoing support.
“The opposition’s win The Grand Progressives Alliance’s triumph in the election once more shows the strength of our political system and the difficulty of preventing any progressive and diligent leader from winning.
According to the accounts I have received so far, the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team conducted what observers have termed as a credible election, so I must also applaud them for that.
“In order to continue strengthening and deepening our electoral system, I charge the commission with upholding the standards and further improving its performance.”
