Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji, a politician from Lagos, has criticized US President Donald Trump’s recent tough stance against Nigeria, saying that the Bola Tinubu administration should receive praise, support, and international cooperation rather than threats.

In reaction to Trump’s condemnation and warning of potential U.S. military intervention over claimed Christian persecution in Nigeria, Adedeji, who represents Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, made this comment public on Friday, November 7.

According to the legislator, President Tinubu has taken serious action to address the nation’s security issues and is fully aware of them.

“President Bola Tinubu, as a father, is not happy that bandits, terrorists, or whatever name they have, have attempted to downplay the gains of this administration,” he said. For this reason, he gave the recently constituted service commanders orders to remove the nation’s insecurity. Terrorists and their backers will never receive special treatment from the current administration.

According to him, the President’s recent reorganization of the military command demonstrates his dedication to stabilizing the country and reestablishing security in unstable areas.

According to Adedeji, Nigeria has seen quantifiable economic growth in the past two years, drawing attention and investment from around the world.

He added, “Different data have shown inflation dropping for the first time in years,” citing macroeconomic factors that point to a recovery. The administration has brought in multibillion-dollar investments and revitalized dormant sectors. Economic indicators consistently demonstrate that the administration is headed in the right direction.

The legislator also pointed out that subnational governments had more fiscal capability and that the value of the naira had improved.

“State governments are comfortable for the first time because they have a certain amount of economic power,” he stated.

Instead than escalating tensions, Adedeji urged the US to collaborate with Nigeria.

“At this point, the United States and other countries should work together globally for the sake of Nigeria’s inhabitants. The congressman emphasized, “Let our youth and citizens remain patient and have faith in the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

In order to combat terrorism, Adedeji asked Nigerians to keep assisting the military and security services.

“We need to motivate our new service chiefs to meet expectations and make sure they put an end to the nation’s insurgents.” Knowing that the outcomes would best suit our desires, let’s support the government’s enormous steps,” he continued.
