Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has counseled the African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership, led by David Mark, to cease attributing their problems to President Bola Tinubu.
Instead of placing the blame on the ruling party, he counseled the opposition alliance to examine its own problems and find solutions.
Oyintiloye said in a statement in Osogbo on Monday that Tinubu is not a court of law that ordered the ADC to return to its pre-merger executives while a matter brought by one of its members was being decided at the Federal High Court.
Oyintiloye stated that instead of blaming the president for the party’s internal strife, the delisted ADC leadership must have the guts to tell Nigerians the truth.
“I will advise the ADC to stop blaming Tinubu for its crisis and put its house in order,” he declared. As a true democrat, the President may win reelection in 2027 without undermining any party.
Tinubu has no time to meddle in pointless political affairs and is not a member of the Court of Appeal that issued the ruling.
“Targeting Tinubu is a poor decision if the ADC is trying to find someone to blame.”
According to Oyintiloye, neither Tinubu nor the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) made the decision to deny recognition to any ADC faction until all legal disputes have been settled; rather, it was the outcome of a court decision.
“Instead of playing a blame game, my direct advice to the ADC is to look inward and resolve its internal crisis,” he continued.
He advised politicians to follow the law and refrain from actions that could turn against them in the future.
He claims that “using blackmail will not save ADC.” If the party wants Nigerians to acknowledge it as a power in the country’s political arena, it must start over and rethink its strategy.
