In Kano, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is anticipated to attend a formal reception at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofar Mata on Monday to officially welcome Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the All Progressives Congress.
The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, and a number of APC governors are also expected to attend the event, which party leaders have characterized as a significant political assembly intended to strengthen the ruling party’s hold on the North-West.
Yusuf will be legally and symbolically welcomed into the Kano State APC at the reception, according to Abdullahi Abbas, the party’s chairman.
He said the move marked a major turning point for the APC in Kano, which is considered to be one of Nigeria’s most important political bastions.
He claims that much planning has been done to guarantee a flawless ceremony.
Abbas revealed the establishment of multiple committees to oversee the event’s logistics, security, and mobilization.
Security arrangements will be overseen by a 15-member Security Committee led by Col. Umar Malami, with the Director-General of Special Services serving as secretary.
The responsibility for overseeing stadium amenities has been placed on a 16-member Venue Committee, which is led by Hon. Bala Mohd Gwagwarwa and includes Umar Abdullahi Ganduje as its secretary.
Under the direction of Hon. Muhammad Garba, a 15-member Publicity Committee would manage media and public interaction.
At the same time, emergency and medical services will be coordinated by the Health Emergency and Sanitation Committee, which is headed by Dr. Abubakar Labaran.
Managing the reception procedures for the dignitaries anticipated at the ceremony is the responsibility of the Protocol Committee, which is chaired by Hon. Abdullahi Rogo.
Under the leadership of Hon. Mohd Bello Butu-Butu, the party also established a 20-member Mobilization Committee to guarantee widespread involvement.
