Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, has said that his administration has launched a vigorous campaign against insecurity, emphasizing the need to totally eradicate the danger.

Additionally, he praised the federal government for supporting the state’s efforts to reduce banditry.

In order to restore peace and promote socioeconomic advancement throughout Benue, Alia stressed the significance of solidarity, shared accountability, and ongoing prayer.

In the New Banquet Hall of Government House in Makurdi, the governor made the statements on Wednesday night while entertaining Muslims for an Iftar.

He said the event was a powerful symbol of solidarity as well as having spiritual significance.

Speaking about how Ramadan and Lent overlap, Alia said the time of year presents a special opportunity to promote interfaith harmony and group prayers.

The governor asked citizens to stay vigilant and assist security forces with timely and reliable information in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula.

He pledged that his administration will keep carrying out calculated measures to safeguard people and property throughout the entire state.

“This unique opportunity for Ramadan and Lent to coincide is a divine invitation for us to come together in prayer for our state and our country,” he said.

Alia acknowledged the difficulties his administration inherited when addressing persistent security concerns, but he emphasized that the government is still committed to combating criminal activity throughout Benue.

Even though insecurity is still a problem, we are strong in our resolve to deal with it head-on. With perseverance and God’s grace, we will triumph.

He declared, “This monster is called insecurity, but we have started chopping off its head and it must die.”

The governor reiterated his economic strategy and emphasized the necessity of stakeholder cooperation in order to reposition Benue as a desirable location for investment.

“You must not like my nose, you must not like my head,” he remarked. That is not as crucial. I don’t have to be liked. But remember Benue, love Benue, and work together to restore Benue’s greatness.

“I extend an invitation to all morally upright individuals to work with me in order to transform Benue into a destination that appeals to all.”

Alia emphasized that group objectives should take precedence over differences and urged citizens to preserve love, respect for one another, and a sense of purpose.
