Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has retaliated against Siminalayi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, over his remarks on a barking dog.
Speaking at the government house in Port Harcourt on Thursday during the New Year’s banquet, Fubara reportedly claimed that dogs bark because they don’t understand what’s going on in the house.
He claims that he is confident that the trip will be easy and that everything will turn out well for him.
The governor reassured his supporters that all the necessary arrangements are in place to guarantee his election for a second term.
Speaking to the residents of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni (ONELGA) on Friday, Wike responded by claiming that the barking dog elevated Fubara to the position of governor even though the Rivers people were unaware of him.
He also made fun of Fubara’s supporters, emphasizing that they have no political advantage.
“This dog that’s barking now barked, even when Rivers people didn’t know who the person was, and the dog made the person governor when others ran away, and he’s not afraid that the same dog is barking now,” he stated. I hope the best for him.
“Asiwaju Tinubu is our choice. We need to make a decision, but there is no debate about it. We won’t repeat the error we committed previously. We would make the correction.
“I heard him mention that the people that worked with Atiku have returned. Atiku could not receive ten percent. What is the political advantage, then? You are all familiar with them; I won’t identify them.
