2027 Campaign: Yari Points to Tinubu’s Reforms as Major Theme

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s achievements and development priorities will form the central focus of the ruling party’s campaign ahead of the January 16, 2027, presidential election.

Yari said the campaign would focus on presenting the administration’s performance to Nigerians, highlighting the benefits of government policies, ongoing infrastructure development and their impact on citizens’ daily lives.

He made the remarks on Wednesday in his acceptance speech shortly after President Tinubu inaugurated the Presidential Campaign Council at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

“As we start going around to royal fathers and clerics, this is the message I have been sending today: our campaign is going to be centred on what you have done and what you are going to do in the future,” Yari said.

He commended President Tinubu for his achievements in infrastructure development and efforts to improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians, adding that the President’s record had made the campaign team’s assignment easier.

“You have touched the life of an ordinary man. You have been there in infrastructure, building the iron road as if the money is nothing,” he said.

Yari reaffirmed the council’s commitment to working collectively towards President Tinubu’s re-election, stressing the importance of unity, dedication and shared responsibility in achieving the party’s electoral objectives.

“We are going to do it all honestly with the trust and, by God’s grace, we are going to deliver,” he said.

He maintained that the council’s central mandate was to coordinate the party’s electoral efforts towards securing a second term for President Tinubu.

“It’s no time for ego. We are all one in this business. We have only one agenda. What is that agenda? To ensure that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu returns as President,” Yari said.

The former Zamfara State governor urged council members to work together to deliver the mandate entrusted to them by the President.

Yari said the party would build on the administration’s initiatives to deepen engagement with women and mobilise grassroots support across polling units, wards, local governments and states ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

He expressed confidence in the council’s ability to coordinate a nationwide campaign through collaboration with party leaders, political stakeholders and grassroots structures.

Formally accepting his appointment, Yari pledged to work closely with all members of the council to achieve the party’s electoral objectives.

“I, Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari, as Director-General of this campaign, Mr President, I will do my best, and I will work with each and every member of this council to ensure that the result becomes a successful one by the 16th of January 2027, inshallah,” he said.
