2027: ‘I’m In Charge, Owe Tinubu Rivers State, FCT’ – Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, said he is in charge of the political structure of Rivers State and the nation’s capital, owes Tinubu in the forthcoming election.

Wike made this known on Wednesday while speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, it was learnt.

When asked whether the incumbent Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is in charge of the state’s political structure, Wike said that being the governor was not the only way to influence politics.

“You don’t have to be governor to be in charge,” he said. I’m in charge. I am the General Commander of the Political Infantry. So also in FCT. These two I must give to the president. “For the election, you treat FCT like a state.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has cautioned Wike on his claim that he would deliver the FCT and Rivers State for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027’s election.

Wike must be joking if he thinks he can just write election results in Rivers State and the FCT, Wike, NDC Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, Theo Abu Agada, said in a statement.

The warning is coming on the heels of Wike’s statement during his monthly media chat on Wednesday where he said that he would not fold his arms and watch the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, win the 2027 election.

The NDC chieftain said Wike is behaving as if he is the one who will determine electoral outcomes in the FCT and Rivers State.

Agada vowed that in 2027, the people will vote, monitor and protect their votes.
